ENVIRONMENT CANADA STILL RELIES ON BIASED CLIMATE ASSESSMENT |
|
October 7, 2009: "Stop promoting unfounded fears", by Tom Harris, ICSC Executive Director, Financial Post, National Post, Toronto, Canada. “"Environment Canada, when it comes to the climate change issue, relies substantially on conclusions reached by the [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] in its ongoing series of scientific assessments,” wrote [Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Technology Branch, Dr. Brian T.] Gray. Yes, and that is a big problem since the IPCC is known to be a biased organization focused on stirring up yet more climate alarm. ... Spending billions on “fighting climate change,” as [Environment Minister Jim] Prentice asserts “is important to Canadians,” is vastly premature and a wholly inappropriate use of public monies." Read Harris' February 14, 2009 letter to Environment Minister Prentice and Gray's May 25 response. ICSC is interested in the opinions of climate experts concerning the points raised by Gray in this letter - please forward your thoughts to ICSC at

. Harris responded to ask "Will you be incorporating the conclusions of the newly released NIPCC report (which, in many important cases, contradict the findings of the IPCC reports you say EC relies upon) into your Website’s science content?" Gray's August 24 response did not answer the question.
